Mit dem Beginn des Schuljahres 2006/2007 wurde das Schlossgymnasium zur Ganztagsschule in Angebotsform.
Die für diesen Zweig angemeldeten Schüler der 5. und 6. Klassen haben seitdem dadurch die Möglichkeit, von Montag bis Donnerstag bis nachmittags in der Schule zu bleiben und zusätzliche Lern- und Betreuungsangebote zu nutzen.
Nach dem regulären Unterricht essen sie in der Schule zu Mittag, erledigen ihre Hausaufgaben und nehmen dann an einer Arbeitsgemeinschaft teil.
